Haematology Specialist Biomedical Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Haematology & Blood Transfusion department at the University Hospital of North Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities:- Undertake analysis of samples using complex equipment, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring accurate and precise results.
- Participate in the routine workload, utilizing specialist knowledge and experience to advise on complex and specialized techniques.
- Perform and verify quality control samples, ensuring accuracy and precision, and taking corrective action as necessary.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and quality control measures.
- Relevant degree approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).
- Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
- Knowledge of relevant laboratory data management systems and quality procedures.
- Health and Safety knowledge and understanding of data protection and data quality.
- IBMS Registration Portfolio and Specialist Portfolio.
- Intermediate and accurate IT skills.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical skills with the ability to work methodically and systematically.
This is a full-time position based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital site, with occasional requirements to provide cover at the County Hospital in Stafford. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly, including participating in weekend and out-of-hours arrangements when required.
