About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist with a special interest in Obstetric Anaesthesia to join our team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in high-risk obstetric anaesthesia and general anaesthesia, with the ability to deliver services without supervision. They will be responsible for providing anaesthetic care to patients in our maternity unit, including epidural analgesia and support for assisted and emergency births.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide anaesthetic care to patients in the maternity unit, including epidural analgesia and support for assisted and emergency births.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service development and delivery plans.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Full registration with the GMC.
  • CCT in Anaesthesia (or proposed CCT date within 6 months of interview).
  • FRCA or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in high-risk obstetric anaesthesia and general anaesthesia.
  • Ability to deliver services without supervision.
