About the Role
SSE plc is seeking a highly skilled Substation Project Engineer to join our Transmission team. As a key member of our project engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of our Transmission Pathway to 2030 programme of works.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the full project life cycle, from project definition to project completion, ensuring the quality of installations and minimal risk to network security.
- Review and witness contractor/consultant detailed designs, including factory acceptance testing.
- Support site and operational teams to ensure the quality of installations and adherence to project governance and engineering processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to identify and mitigate engineering and quality risks.
- Develop technical scopes, site location plans, primary plant layouts, and single line diagrams for new build and asset replacement type projects.
Requirements
- Hold or be working towards a degree or masters in an appropriate engineering discipline.
- Have a good awareness of the technical functions in Transmission, including an appreciation of legal and regulatory obligations.
- Have an understanding of the legislation and implications for the management of the Transmission network, including CDM & ESQCR.
