Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Psychologist, working in a specialist role within our Critical Care service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing highly specialist psychological services to patients and their families, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team, with a strong background in clinical health psychology and experience working in critical care settings. You will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments, interventions, and consultations to patients and their families, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based psychological interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions to patients and their families, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  2. Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based psychological interventions, working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  3. Provide specialist training and supervision to other healthcare professionals, including clinical psychology trainees and assistant psychologists.
  4. Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures, working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  5. Participate in clinical governance processes, including audit and evaluation activities, to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Clinical Psychologist with a strong background in clinical health psychology and experience working in critical care settings. You will need to have:

  • A doctoral qualification in clinical psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working in critical care settings, with a strong background in clinical health psychology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
