About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Health Psychologist to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a Clinical Health Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing specialist psychological services to critical care patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To provide highly specialist psychological services to critical care patients, including assessment, formulation, and intervention.
  2. To work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the care and support given to patients and ICU survivors.
  3. To develop and implement effective clinical governance processes to ensure high-quality care.
  4. To contribute to service planning and strategic development, including the development of care policies and protocols.
  5. To provide training and supervision to staff within the service, including Clinical Psychology trainees and assistant psychologists.
Requirements
  • Accredited British Psychological Society (BPS) Doctoral Clinical Psychology qualification or equivalent.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Eligible for Chartered Psychologist status.
  • Working knowledge of the practices and approaches of other key disciplines, professions, and agencies involved in the care and management network.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Further specialist training and clinical experience relevant to the post.
  • Formal supervision training/qualification.
  • Highly-developed knowledge of two or more psychological models.
