Occupational Therapist Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient dementia assessment and treatment unit, Ruskin, based at the Carleton Clinic in Carlisle.
Ruskin is a 15-bed unit that provides a comprehensive and holistic assessment of older individuals' physical, psychological, behavioural, social, and spiritual needs through validated assessment tools and multidisciplinary working.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage a caseload of service users with complex Occupational Therapy needs, diverse presentations, and a range of mental health, physical health, neurological conditions, cognitive, and/or learning disabilities.
- Develop collaborative intervention plans with service users and carers, ensuring regular reviews to monitor progress and adapt as necessary.
- Consider carer needs and involve carers and families in care planning where appropriate.
- Deliver evidence-based Occupational therapy interventions.
- Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality individualized care, promoting recovery, wellbeing, and maximizing independence.
- Coordinate treatment planning, interventions, reviews, and discharge planning.
- Provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff as delegated by the Clinical Lead.
- Provide compassionate care based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity.
