Responsibilities: This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual aspiring to advance their career as a Senior Structural Engineer within our esteemed team, recognized for its extensive knowledge across all sectors of the built environment. Key Responsibilities Include: Assisting the Associate Director / Director in overseeing the structural engineering team Independently managing projects and project teams Holding financial accountability for your projects Preparing fee proposals and managing invoicing Supervising staff and collaborating with other consultants Further developing the engineering and technician team Collaborating with senior stakeholders and clients Conducting site visits and performing structural surveys, investigations, and repair schemes for various structural issues Candidate Profile: To excel in this position, candidates should possess a degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering and ideally be working towards or have achieved chartership with ICE, IStructE, or a similar body. Additionally, candidates should: Have experience in designing foundations, masonry, concrete (including detailing), steel, and timber structures in accordance with Eurocodes Be knowledgeable about the residential market, including traditional and framed construction Demonstrate commercial awareness with insights into financial project management, client development, and the project appointment process Have experience in structural investigations of low-rise residential and medium-rise commercial properties Preferably have experience in structural investigation and reporting related to the 'Building Safety Act' Be familiar with Tekla software (Tekla Designer and Tedds) and ideally with AutoCAD/Revit Exhibit strong leadership skills to establish authority and influence both internally and externally Have prior management experience, which would be advantageous Possess decision-making capabilities Be motivated, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously with a drive for innovation Benefits: RPS Group is an accredited training provider, offering professional qualifications in leadership and management, as well as executive coaching and mentoring.
