Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you an enthusiastic and driven HR professional seeking to advance your career within a dynamic and results-oriented team? If so, this opportunity may be the perfect fit for you.

We are thrilled to announce an opening for an HR Advisor to become part of our supportive and active HR Team. The successful candidate will deliver a comprehensive and professional HR Advisory service, embodying the Trust's values and contributing to the strategic objectives of the People & Culture Directorate. You will cultivate strong working relationships, assist teams in achieving their workforce goals, and foster effective people management practices by advising, guiding, and coaching managers on Trust policies and procedures. Additionally, this role offers the chance to engage in policy development, training, and various HR projects as part of the broader HR team. The position supports our network and corporate teams with a flexible working model, combining remote work with time spent at key Trust locations.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as a primary contact for managers, employing a coaching methodology to assist them in navigating a variety of employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, attendance issues, and performance management. You will oversee effective investigations, collaborating closely with investigating officers to ensure timelines are adhered to. A wide array of HR advice will be provided, and where necessary, you will meet with managers and staff in person. There will also be opportunities to engage in proactive HR initiatives, such as conducting training sessions and contributing to policy development. Building effective relationships within the areas you support will be crucial, as will being responsive and organized at all times. Ideally, you will possess HR advisory experience and be CIPD qualified or actively pursuing this qualification. Experience within the NHS is not a prerequisite.

You will join a welcoming and supportive team that will assist you in acclimating to the Trust and the teams you will be supporting. Regular team meetings will ensure effective communication, collaborative efforts, and the sharing of best practices. Under the guidance of the HR Business Partner, you will work independently while receiving appropriate supervision and support. We are committed to your ongoing professional development, enabling you to thrive in a fast-paced environment where we strive to uphold our values daily.

About Our Organization

The NHS People Plan and People Promises shape the strategic direction of our team. You will become part of an organization dedicated to fostering change, promoting equality, and employing compassionate leadership approaches aimed at enhancing staff wellbeing and delivering exceptional patient care.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust offers a diverse range of services, including secondary mental health care across the region. Our specialized services encompass inpatient child and adolescent mental health care, perinatal mental health, and forensic services, including low and medium secure care.
