About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys covering occasional shifts or short-term assignments within our supported housing service.
At Salvation Army Homes, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality housing services, support, and resettlement. The Relief Support Worker will collaborate with individuals experiencing homelessness who require accommodation and assistance.
As a Relief Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Building trust and rapport with our clients
- Empowering clients to achieve independent living
- Encouraging social integration through participation in leisure and social programs
- Providing residents with support for their needs and daily living tasks
About the Ideal Candidate
You will naturally embody our Values and Behaviours. We also seek individuals with energy, passion, and a positive, proactive attitude in their contributions to transforming lives.
Essential qualities include:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trusting, professional relationships
- Experience in helping individuals develop their skills, strengths, and talents
- Knowledge or experience working with homeless individuals or vulnerable populations
- Willingness to participate in our on-call rota when engaged
