Senior Environmental Engineer

Wood is currently seeking a Senior/Principal Environmental Engineer to join our Technical HSE Team in Reading.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Design HSE Group within the Engineering Department, reporting to the Group Manager Design HSE. The department is part of the New Energies business of Wood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • Be a member of a recognised professional institution.
  • Have technical competence in core Environmental Engineering subject areas, including Emissions Quantification, Dispersion Modelling, Best Available Technology (BAT) Analysis, Risk Assessments, and Working knowledge of applicable international standards.
  • Have experience in the application of Environmental Engineering within a design setting, likely including Oil and Gas, Petrochemical and Refining, LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), Carbon Capture/Hydrogen Production.
  • Exhibit analytical and conceptual thinking skills, ability to manage own work and the work of others, plus a strong customer focus and team-working skills.
  • Be able to work to agreed delivery dates while collaborating with others in multifunctional teams.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Environmental Engineering or Sustainability.
  • Experience of working in the process industry and energy, oil and gas, refining and petrochemical sectors.
  • Leadership skills and experience.
  • Commercial awareness.
