A&S Recruitment is seeking a skilled Ocean Freight Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional client support in alignment with the company's core commitments.
- Contribute to the overall strategic objectives of the organization.
- Oversee the complete process for Ocean Freight Imports and assigned clients, including pre-alert management, customer communication, delivery coordination, customs clearance processing, and financial documentation.
- Maintain and manage operational data, such as Sick File reports and workflow assessments, to ensure compliance and enhance profitability.
- Assist in achieving targets set by the Ocean Freight Manager regarding profit maximization, volume increase, and service excellence.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients and service providers, negotiating optimal rates with carriers and internal teams.
- Collaborate with the Sales team in engaging with key clients.
- Adhere to the company's established operational guidelines.
- Facilitate the implementation of the Ocean Freight strategy within the team, ensuring alignment and monitoring of strategic goals.
- Address carrier performance issues as necessary, liaising with relevant parties.
Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of two years' experience in the Freight Forwarding sector.
- Five years of relevant work or educational background.
- Five GCSEs, including Mathematics and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications.
- Preferred knowledge and experience with HMRC Import regulations.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adhere to established processes.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including influencing, communication, relationship management, and cultural sensitivity.
- Familiarity with the Freight Forwarding industry, particularly Imports and associated processes.
- Experience with Cargowise One system is advantageous.
- Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
Compensation and Benefits:
