Fleet Insurance Underwriter - Motor Fleet

Location - Birmingham

As a Fleet Insurance Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in managing broker relationships, assessing new business opportunities, processing renewals, and handling mid-term adjustments. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in broking or underwriting who are eager to advance their professional journey.

You will be assigned to a specific group of brokers/customers, focusing on the proactive development and profitable expansion of their commercial insurance portfolios. By collaborating closely with brokers and customers, you will gain insights into their needs and preferences, leveraging data to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet those requirements.

This role necessitates travel for broker visits across the Midlands, so flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Function as a Fleet Underwriter and/or Multiclass Underwriter, adhering to established guidelines and authority levels to ensure profitable growth of the business portfolio Engage in effective communication, conducting meaningful face-to-face meetings with brokers and/or customers to foster trust and position Aviva as their preferred insurer Manage the complete lifecycle of brokers/customers' business portfolios Embrace and comprehend our SME strategy Demonstrate curiosity to enhance understanding of the commercial insurance landscape

Required Skills and Experience:

Proven experience in fleet underwriting is essential (experience in property & liability underwriting is advantageous but not mandatory) Strong analytical skills to assess risks and communicate effectively with brokers and/or customers Ability to collaborate within a large, complex organization Solid understanding of FCA regulations and other relevant legal frameworks Strong commercial acumen to develop and present business cases
