Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of engineers to achieve high performance and commitment to our operations.
  2. Operational Management: Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the engineering team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  3. Training and Development: Identify and address training needs within the team to ensure skill gaps are filled and business requirements are met.
  4. Communication: Facilitate effective communication within the team, across shifts, and with other departments to ensure operational continuity.
  5. Permit to Work System: Manage the Permit to Work System during your shift and communicate any open permits and ongoing contractor activities to the next shift.
  6. Facilities Maintenance: Perform electrical and engineering maintenance with a focus on safe plant operations and a safe working environment.
  7. Planned Maintenance: Carry out planned maintenance as required by the Engineering Manager.
  8. Performance Monitoring: Understand engineering and operational KPIs and identify improvement opportunities to Senior Engineers.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Proven experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, preferably in a FMCG industry setting.
  2. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of FMCG industry and retailer products and quality standards.
  3. Management Skills: Experience of successfully managing tasks and projects to completion.
  4. Technical Skills: Computer literate and effective planning and organisation skills.
