Job Description

1st Executive is seeking an exceptional ESG Regulatory Policy Specialist to join our Global Regulatory Policy & Advisory (GRPA) team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our business by tracking and distributing ESG regulatory developments, providing expert technical support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and Interpret ESG-Related Policies: Monitor and analyze new ESG-related policies, providing detailed guidance to stakeholders on their implications and requirements.
  • Support ESG Regulation Implementation: Collaborate with our clients to ensure compliance with local and international ESG standards, providing expert advice on regulatory and disclosure requirements.
  • Research and Influence ESG Regulatory Policies: Conduct research and draft responses to proposed ESG standards, influencing the development of future ESG regulatory policies.
Impact:
  • Advise on Regulatory and Disclosure Implications: Provide expert advice on the regulatory and disclosure implications of ESG policy developments, ensuring our clients are well-informed and compliant.
  • Communicate ESG Regulations: Interpret and communicate ESG regulations to stakeholders, ensuring seamless implementation and compliance.
  • Review and Disseminate Regulatory Papers: Review and disseminate relevant regulatory papers, briefing senior management on changes and updates.
Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Collaborate Across the Business: Work collaboratively across the business to embed ESG frameworks and resolve challenges, ensuring a cohesive and compliant approach to ESG regulation.
  • Lead Projects: Lead projects within the GRPA and ESG teams, providing expert guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide Regulatory Advice: Provide advice on broader regulatory issues, managing projects effectively and ensuring compliance with ESG standards.
Candidate Requirements:
  • ESG Reporting Experience: Ideally, experience with ESG reporting and regulatory initiatives, such as the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
  • Regulatory Capital Rules: Knowledge of regulatory capital rules and reporting, including Basel, EU, and PRA requirements.
  • Green Finance Products: Understanding of green finance products and their regulatory treatment.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across a global multi-location team.
  • Leadership and Influence: Ability to demonstrate leadership and positively influence others within the team, deputizing for the current team leader when required.
