About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Control Engineer to join our team at Pertemps Scotland. As a key member of our Remote Operating Centre, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation and monitoring of our plants on a 24-hour basis using state-of-the-art technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the secure and reliable network and computer infrastructure for the ROC, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange.
  • Automate the collection and reporting of alarm statistics for all our remote operations centre controlled plants, providing valuable insights for process improvement.
  • Review and evaluate nuisance alarms, and oversee the Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) process to reduce alarm count and enhance operator interactions.
  • Support the implementation of process control changes across various Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-machine interface (HMI) types, making automatic control systems adjustments as required.
  • Contribute to projects that support the development and implementation of productivity improvements, driving business growth and excellence.
Requirements
  • Digital mindset with a good level of IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating system, PC configuration, virtualisation, and networking.
  • Previous experience in a control room operation using SCADA control systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to influence others.
  • Working experience of process controls, operations, commissioning, and projects, as well as specific experience in process design, optimisation, automation, and/or control loops and systems.
  • Understanding and experience of PLC programming and/or Advanced Controls.
  • Experience in working across projects using an analytical mindset and passion to solve problems and drive improvements.
