Research Opportunity in Liquid Phase Ultrafast Photoemission Spectroscopy

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Doctoral Candidate to join our research group at the Department of Chemistry, University College London. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project in liquid phase ultrafast photoemission spectroscopy, as part of the HORIZON-MSCA Doctoral Training Network LUMIERE.

The research project aims to advance our molecular-level understanding of biomimetic switches, with potential applications in bio-imaging tools, novel light-driven molecular devices, and smart drugs triggered by light. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, physics, or a related field, and a passion for high-quality interdisciplinary research.

The position is funded for 36 months, and the work is expected to lead to the award of a PhD. The researcher will also have the opportunity to undertake research/training placements at partners within the LUMIERE network, fostering a high degree of interaction with other partners.

To be considered for this position, applicants should have a Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Physics, Natural Sciences, or a similar subject, and a strong research background. Experience in photochemistry or laser spectroscopy is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
