Countryside Conservation Officer

Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Conservation Officer to become part of our welcoming team at Wokingham Borough Council. This role involves engaging with the upkeep of numerous natural sites across the borough, including parks, nature reserves, and extensive public pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general upkeep of visitor amenities within the parks.
- Conduct essential tasks such as mowing, strimming, and fencing.
- Carry out reactive tree maintenance and health & safety evaluations.
- Collaborate with volunteers and interact positively with the public.
- Assist in the execution of specialized wildlife conservation initiatives.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a strong passion for land stewardship and outdoor work. While the role requires flexibility for weekend and evening shifts, a schedule limited to weekdays may be negotiable.
Requirements: A valid driving license and prior hands-on outdoor experience are crucial. Familiarity with chainsaws, brushcutters, and tractor operation is advantageous. Training will be provided to the selected individual.
