PROCUREMENT MANAGER

As a Procurement Manager, you will be accountable for specific categories and the formulation of comprehensive global strategies aimed at enhancing cost efficiency, streamlining the supplier network, and delivering value to the organization while minimizing risks. This role involves orchestrating and spearheading the execution of strategies that support both Direct and Indirect expenditures. Your primary focus will be on the Sugar & Sweeteners categories within the Traded Commodities Portfolio, which encompasses a diverse range of commodity-based raw materials, including grains and edible oils.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee global procurement activities for assigned categories.
  • Drive negotiations for procured goods and services to ensure optimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) encompassing Cost, Quality, Delivery, and Innovation.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to achieve the lowest overall costs while effectively managing risks to the organization.
  • Cultivate and document extensive knowledge of market dynamics, supply chains, and supplier capabilities.
  • Assist in make-or-buy analyses.
  • Conduct formal presentations and coordinate supplier evaluations.
  • Engage in planning and forecasting processes to establish standard costs and clarify price variances at the divisional level.
  • Foster a high level of customer satisfaction by supporting divisional projects and providing purchasing guidance and leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in a Purchasing/Supply Chain environment.
  • Proven track record in project management and participation in large-scale, cross-functional projects.
  • Experience in leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop dynamic teams.
  • Successful history of implementing major cost-saving initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of industries relevant to assigned categories.
  • Technical proficiency in assigned categories.
  • Competence in systems that enhance supplier performance and negotiation leverage.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and resolve moderately complex business challenges.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or equivalent Master's Degree.
  • Certification in CPM or APICS.
