Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Delivery Manager to play a key role in the success of our Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) business. As a member of our engineering team, you will work on one of the largest development and production projects within the company.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead high-performing, multi-discipline engineering teams to generate engineering solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Define the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile based on engineering estimates to ensure project delivery.
  • Manage interfaces with the overall delivery strategy for the wider programme.
  • Work with the Programme Manager to define the organisation and work breakdown required to deliver to customer needs.
  • Define the engineering team's work packages in terms of resources required, budgets assigned to each task, risks and assumptions on these and the timescales to deliver within.
  • Plan and prioritise activities required to deliver the solution to the contract schedule, costs and quality.
  • Manage and report on the engineering efficiency for the project.
  • Identify re-use opportunities across the project.
  • Act as the People Manager for the engineering team on the project and provide feedback into the people manager reviews with the functional discipline leads.

**Requirements**

  • Strong background in engineering with experience in successfully defining and leading the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
  • Highly customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with multiple parallel objectives.
  • Knowledge and experience of naval products beneficial to this role.

This role will work closely with the Programme Manager and the Project Design Authority (PDA) for the specific projects. This role will report to the Head of Engineering Delivery.

This role requires SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.
