About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administration Officer to join our team at the Home Office in the Asylum department.

As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support by undertaking a range of tasks, including logging and actioning correspondence, dealing with customer enquiries, and safeguarding personal data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Asylum Operations team, including managing inboxes, updating databases, and responding to correspondence.
  • Safeguard personal data and comply with all GDPR requirements.
  • Make well-judged decisions regarding demand-led correspondence and complex queries relating to Asylum Registration Cards (ARCs) and screening.
  • Collate, assess, and respond to information given by customers.
  • Escort customers to their Asylum Interviews.
  • Respond to digitally received postal and telephony queries in an effective and timely manner.
  • Deliver against targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships to collaboratively deliver what is required.
  • Deliver a professional service to the Home Office standards and support colleagues.
  • Have a flexible approach and be receptive to organisational change.
Requirements
  • Be able to use basic Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and ability to work at pace.
  • Ability to work independently and closely with others to achieve shared goals/targets.
  • Hold a valid passport and have lived in the UK for longer than 5 years.
