Role Overview

As a Commercial Real Estate Solicitor, you will play a crucial role in managing, negotiating, and securing land rights for various renewable energy projects. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, your expertise will be essential in ensuring all land-related legalities are thoroughly handled and aligned with the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Land Rights Management: Manage and negotiate land rights for onshore wind, solar, grid services, and hydrogen projects within the UK, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work with external consultants, contractors, land agents, and legal advisors, coordinating efforts to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Internal Approvals and Due Diligence: Obtain necessary internal approvals for property documents and support due diligence processes related to land acquisitions and sales.
  • Industry Engagement: Stay updated on relevant industry developments, attend events, and represent the company in consultations and industry discussions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational and Professional Background: A university degree in law and fully qualified Scottish or English Solicitor
  • Experience: 3+ years PQE with proven experience in property law, ideally specifically within the renewable energy sector. Experience with land agreements, reviewing, and interpreting maps and plans is essential.
  • Key Skills: Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Personal Attributes: A proactive, confident, and personable individual who is eager to work within a dynamic and collaborative team environment. Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous professional development are essential.
