About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Track Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, inspect, and repair the track network to ensure safe and efficient rail operations.
  • Specialize in track maintenance and develop expertise in discipline-specific techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver safe and efficient work delivery.
  • Lead the team when required and ensure that all team members have the necessary competencies to meet safety standards.
  • Role model safe working behaviors and challenge any potential risks to safety.
Requirements
  • Leadership skills to lead, motivate, and direct a team for safe and efficient work delivery.
  • Effective communication skills to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.
  • Technical skills in inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.
  • Safety skills to consistently role model safe behaviors and challenge any potential risks to safety.
  • Problem-solving skills to find safe and effective solutions.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills and competencies relevant to the discipline.
  • Relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 1 or 2, or equivalent level of relevant experience.
Working Conditions
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Work shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Be comfortable working in different conditions and environments.
  • Meet the required benchmark for application screening questions.
