Role Overview

Cast UK Limited, a dynamic multi-channel enterprise located in South-West London, is seeking to appoint a Director of Supply Chain Operations. This pivotal role involves reporting directly to the executive board and will focus on spearheading the procurement strategy while ensuring efficient supply chain management and timely production delivery. You will engage with a diverse global supplier network, managing strategic partnerships and advancing procurement objectives, particularly in relation to sustainability commitments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Formulate sourcing strategies tailored to various sales channels, identifying opportunities for economies of scale and unique capabilities.
  • Establish strategic alliances with suppliers to develop distinctive products and innovative market solutions, including sustainable materials and cutting-edge packaging.
  • Supervise significant tender processes with assistance from the Purchasing Manager.
  • Assess and select suppliers on a global scale, including regions such as the Far East and Europe, leading the supplier onboarding initiatives.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with key suppliers, working collaboratively to achieve mutually advantageous results.
  • Manage the production workflow, ensuring efficient and timely manufacturing processes while upholding the highest quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the merchandising team to provide factories with long-term demand forecasts and capacity assessments.
  • Lead the procurement team on a daily basis, including the Purchasing Manager and Buyer.
  • Champion sustainable practices aligned with corporate objectives, aiming to minimize waste and reduce disposables in response to market demands and regulatory requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Extensive experience in Procurement and Supply Chain, particularly in global sourcing and supplier management.
  • Experience in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in production planning systems (e.g., ERP systems) and ideally experienced in conducting factory evaluations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, with a track record of developing team members effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong commitment to sustainability, with proven experience in implementing green initiatives within procurement strategies.
