Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cambridge. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading all commercial aspects of the project, providing commercial support and advice to the team, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commercial Project Management: Monitor contract progress against agreed programmes, control costs against budgets/end cost forecasts, and prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Cost Control: Prepare and agree claims for reimbursements and for loss and expense, and liaise with customers and third parties on all commercial matters.
  • Sub-Contractor Management: Ensure sub-contractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems, and procure sub-contractors and prepare sub-contractor order documentation.
  • Commercial Risk Management: Assess and certify sub-contractor interim payments, and ensure required Payer/Pay-less notices are issued.
  • Team Leadership: Plan, allocate, and evaluate work carried out by teams, individuals, and self, and assist in managing the Commercial team and supervising and mentoring Quantity Surveyors.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Degree Qualified
  • Experience: Experience in a similar role, preferably with JCT & NEC Forms of Contract experience
