About the Role:
Voyage Care is seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team in the Burton-on-Trent area. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring our properties are well-maintained and any necessary repairs are carried out efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Our Maintenance Operatives play a vital role in ensuring our properties meet the highest standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to our properties, ensuring a high standard of workmanship.
- Reporting any significant faults or issues that may require specialist attention.
- Liaising with our Maintenance Administrator to ensure daily whereabouts are up-to-date and to report any problems with the diary.
- Completing all necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently, and submitting it to the Maintenance Administrator in accordance with our policies.
- Being contactable by phone during working hours to discuss any issues or concerns.
- Working a 37.5-hour week, with hours of work from 8:00am to 4:00pm, unless otherwise agreed.
- Occasionally staying overnight in a hotel to facilitate works at properties further afield, as required by the Maintenance Coordinator.
- Communicating with the Service Manager to establish the level and schedule of additional maintenance work required.
- Maintaining positive working relationships with service users, staff, and visitors by being considerate, courteous, and presenting a clean and tidy appearance.
- Using materials in order of date of purchase to minimize waste and ensure value for money.
- Keeping designated work and storage areas clean and tidy, adhering to relevant health and safety requirements.
- Attending training sessions as required by Voyage Care.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of the operation of various services in each home, including emergency lighting systems, fire panels, and plumbing systems.
- Complying with the company's Equal Opportunities Policy and Health and Safety legislation.
- Undertaking other duties as reasonably required by the company, in accordance with your post and hours of work.
