About the Role:

Voyage Care is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of our properties and performing maintenance repairs in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance repairs to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Inform the Maintenance Coordinator of any potential issues or concerns that may impact the property or our services.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Administrator to ensure daily whereabouts are up to date and to report any issues with the prepared diary.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and legibly, and submit it to the Maintenance Administrator in accordance with Voyage Care's policies.
  • Be contactable by phone during working hours to discuss any issues or concerns.
  • Work a 37.5 hour week, with hours of work from 8:00am to 4:00pm, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Occasionally stay overnight in a hotel, at the discretion of the Maintenance Coordinator, to facilitate works at properties further away than an acceptable commuting distance.
  • Communicate with the Service Manager to establish the level and schedule of additional maintenance work required.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with service users, staff, and visitors by being considerate, courteous, and presenting a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Use materials in order of date of purchase to minimize wastage and ensure value for money is obtained.
  • Keep designated work and storage areas clean and tidy, adhering to relevant health and safety requirements, including COSHH procedures.
  • Occasionally attend properties to load and unload furniture items and/or domestic appliances.
  • Attend any training deemed applicable by Voyage Care.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the operation of various services in each property, including emergency lighting systems, fire panels, break glasses, and fire doors.
  • Comply with the company's Equal Opportunities Policy and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably required, in accordance with the company's General Health and Safety Policy Statement.
