The Opportunity

Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly experienced Project Director to join our Data Centre team. With a distinguished client base and the chance to lead strategic commissions and high-profile projects, this is an exciting time to contribute to our growing business unit.

This client-facing role places you within a collaborative and ambitious team where you'll receive comprehensive support. We bring together the brightest minds to address our clients' project and program management objectives, working on large-scale data centre projects exceeding £1 billion in value.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex data centre projects within the real estate sector, encompassing feasibility studies, design, construction, and completion.
  • Develop and implement project strategies, plans, and comprehensive budgets for intricate construction projects.
  • Establish and maintain efficient processes and systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and report on project progress and key performance indicators.
  • Proactively manage and mitigate risks and issues that may arise.
  • Prepare and deliver clear written project communication materials.
  • Prepare and present formal project progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate client relationships, contractors, and designers.
  • Lead meetings, draft minutes, and ensure effective communication channels.
  • Contribute thought leadership by developing presentation materials for client pitches and staying abreast of the latest trends and innovations in the data centre real estate sector.

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in project management or construction management.
  • A recognized qualification in project management or construction management.
  • Membership of a chartered institute (RICS/CIOB) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry and data centre sector trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of the project lifecycle and business case approval processes.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering hyperscale data centre projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience in managing large, complex projects within the data centre industry.
