We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Paediatric Radiographer to join our team at 279 University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Paediatric Imaging Service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality imaging examinations for paediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality imaging examinations using a variety of radiography equipment, including plain film and fluoroscopy.
- Develop and maintain excellent knowledge of paediatric pathology and clinical presentation to ensure the correct imaging examination is performed.
- Liaise with Paediatric Consultant Radiologists and Advanced Practitioners to ensure clinical input is provided where needed.
- Work cohesively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe and effective working environment.
- Ensure adherence to Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) 2017 and Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR) 2017, MRHA MRI safety guidelines and the Trust's policies, protocols and guidelines.
- Effectively use hospital software, including CRIS, PACS, and Bamboo, to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Participate in the 24/7 rota, including core hours and additional shifts as required.
- Communicate effectively with children and young people with varying needs and at different stages of development.
- Promote a patient-focused service in a caring manner, communicating information to patients, parents or carers and non-radiology colleagues to minimise stress and radiation dose.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Paediatric Radiographer, with a strong background in paediatric imaging.
- Excellent knowledge of paediatric pathology and clinical presentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing time efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children and young people, as well as multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, using hospital software as required.
