Westgate Healthcare is a leading care home operator seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of People to lead and manage our HR function. As a key member of our senior team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our people strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving business growth through effective talent management.

About the Role:

  • Lead the HR function across the group, working closely with the HR team, care homes, and senior team
  • Develop and implement plans to positively impact key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Audit key HR processes and compliance areas in the group
  • Ensure the effective use of technology within the function, to maximise efficiencies
  • Be hands-on with day-to-day work as well as able to work at a strategic level
  • Prepare board reports for the Directors
  • Regularly review and update HR policies and procedures and employee documentation in line with changes in practice or legislation
  • Plan, lead on and implement projects as agreed with the Directors, such as the development of agreed company values and standards and value-based recruitment tools
  • Be an ambassador for the company
  • Work to gain external recognition, such as awards and Investors in People

About You:

  • Possess a full CIPD HR qualification (Level 7 ideally), or higher HR qualification
  • A Level educated or equivalent as minimum. University degree is preferable
  • Experience relevant to the job role and proven ability to effectively lead an HR function and achieve positive results
  • Previous experience in the care industry is preferable, however is not essential
  • Up to date understanding of employment law
  • Be caring, flexible, responsive to daily operational changes, and driven to take accountability, innovate and deliver on agreed outcomes
  • Have strong attention to detail and the ability to independently write comprehensive reports and letters, create documents for business use and work with all Microsoft packages to include Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage with a range of stakeholders
  • Able to meet deadlines, prioritise workload and used to working in a fast-paced environment
