About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering designs and leading projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver mechanical engineering systems using the latest software design packages, including AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Lead mechanical services design on large projects and take overall lead on small to medium-sized projects within the office.
  • Develop initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions meet the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Take responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work, either alone or as part of a team.
  • Engage with junior support staff, providing guidance and advice to ensure they develop their skills and contribute to the team's success.
  • Work with project leaders to monitor fee expenditure, resource allocation, and work delivered.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and research, staying ahead of competitors and maintaining a high reputation within the industry.
Requirements
  • Excellent technical knowledge in Mechanical Design Engineering and Building Services Engineering.
  • Previous consultancy experience, with a thorough understanding of interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
  • Able to lead small to medium-sized projects and take a brief from the project lead on large projects, delivering and controlling tasks required.
  • Responsible for the quality of outputs and able to identify when outsourcing is required.
  • Appreciate client needs and able to face clients, with a mentorship role for junior members of staff.
  • Ideal candidate is a Chartered engineer or working towards.
