About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated dentist to join our dynamic Special Care Dental Service to deliver routine and urgent dental care to patients, adults and children who are unable to access care in the General Dental Services due to their additional needs, social and behavioural limitations, domiciliary dental needs, anxiety management and bariatric care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental screening, survey and treatment services, including emergency treatment for patients requiring Special Care Dentistry and Specialist Occasional Care. This may involve working in a variety of clinic premises, including mobile clinics and domiciliary visits where appropriate.

The post holder will be required to work closely with other members of the dental team, including Specialists in Special Care Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry and GA/Sedation, to provide high-quality patient care and achieve UDA targets.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Current full Registration as Dental Surgeon with General Dental Council
  • Foundation (Vocational) Training / equivalence and current Performers List number

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a Special Care Dental Service
  • Knowledge of Special Care Dentistry and Specialist Occasional Care
