Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and well-organized individual to join our Clinical Skills Team as a Placement Coordinator. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the allocation of placements across the Integrated Care Organisation (ICO) and working with a range of education providers.

Main Duties
  • Engage with diverse learners and provide cross-cover for the Clinical Education and Widening Participation teams.
  • Liaise directly with partner organizations, such as the Universities of Plymouth and Exeter, to support placement allocation and capacity.
  • Collaborate with the Placement Development Team to ensure planned placements meet the requirements of professional bodies and Higher Education Institutions.
  • Develop links across the ICO and wider community, as well as with other local employers.
  • Ensure a coordinated approach to liaising with managers, matrons, and workforce in planning placements.
  • Be a point of contact for matrons, ward managers, and learners within the ISUs.
  • Respond to detailed enquiries in a face-to-face, telephone, email, or paper-based environment.
  • Manage and respond to sensitive information regarding staff, learners, or students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication and Working Relationships: Liaise with Directorate staff, Clinical Programmes Team, and multi-professional staff within the Trust and wider South Devon Health Community.
  • Planning and Organisation: Work autonomously, manage own workload, and develop administrative processes.
  • Policy and Service Responsibility: Implement and update systems for monitoring and analyzing safer systems of work through audit.
Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Education to A Level/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
    • IT experience, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience working at Diploma level in business administration.
