Job Title: Plant Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Engineer to join our team at McGregor Springfield. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out essential planned maintenance and complete necessary repairs to keep the factory in good working order.
  2. Provide electrical maintenance cover through effective and efficient response to plant breakdowns throughout the factory.
  3. Develop and implement process improvements throughout the factory, identifying new ideas and better solutions.
  4. Communicate effectively with colleagues and production personnel to develop an understanding of machinery operation, enabling efficient fault diagnosis and rectification.
  5. Contribute to the development and implementation of our Factory IMS and CMMS system.
  6. Apply rigorous TPM tools and techniques to generate continuous improvement throughout all areas of the factory.
  7. Apply the 5S principles to deliver world-class standards of housekeeping.
  8. Support process improvement throughout the factory.
  9. Report to the Plant Manager to ensure all maintenance tasks are undertaken.
Qualifications & Experience:
  1. Recognised engineering apprenticeship and qualification.
  2. Demonstrable knowledge and expertise in fault-finding and diagnostic skills on industrial plant and equipment.
  3. Understanding of PLC equipment and program editing, with the ability to fault-find and edit programs.
  4. Design, draw, and read electrical diagrams.
  5. Replace and program frequency inverters, motor controls, and safety circuits.
  6. High degree of health and safety awareness.
Essentials:
  1. To be trained to City & Guilds and/or ONC level, ideally with a working knowledge of 17th Wiring Regulations.
  2. C&G 2392 Testing & Inspection.
  3. C&G 2360 Part 2.
  4. Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (in either Installation or Maintenance) or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (BS&E) or similar equivalent qualification.
  5. ECS Gold Card.
  6. To be conversant with the Electricity at Work Act.
  7. Familiarity with industrial mobile and fixed plant.
  8. Full UK driving licence.
  9. Computer literate.
