About the Role

We are seeking an experienced underwriter to join our team at Hiscox, specializing in renewable energy underwriting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting a broad book of renewable energy risks, with a focus on the onshore segment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite renewable energy risks in line with individual underwriting authority and portfolio guidelines.
  • Develop and strengthen product and underwriting knowledge and judgment, including review of wordings.
  • Monitor and stay up-to-date with changes in underwriting, regulation, and compliance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key brokers and clients, representing Hiscox at meetings, conferences, and client visits.
  • Work effectively with internal stakeholders, including engineering, pricing, claims, exposure management, and operations teams.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience underwriting renewable risks in the London market, with experience in underwriting power, offshore, and construction risks a plus.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to assess risks and demonstrate accurate judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Established market presence among key brokers and clients, with a proven track record of developing a portfolio and providing exceptional service.
  • Progress in ACII examinations or a commitment to complete them.
