Job Overview

Granby Workshop is seeking a skilled and proactive Ceramic Production Supervisor to oversee our tile manufacturing process, creating innovative, sustainable products for architectural applications globally.

POSITION: Ceramic Production Supervisor

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Working Hours: Standard business hours, Monday to Friday

Probation Period: Standard duration

Key Responsibilities

Production Management:

  • Oversee the creation of handcrafted ceramic tiles and custom products.
  • Manage production schedules and workflows to ensure timely project completion.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to uphold product standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs of production equipment.
  • Review and adjust cost estimates for product pricing.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage material procurement.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to enhance production processes and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor the production team, fostering a positive work atmosphere.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and one-on-one meetings with team members.
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive workshop culture.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and training of new staff.

Product Development:

  • Collaborate on product innovation and development initiatives.
  • Create samples and prototypes for custom projects.

Client Communication:

  • Lead client interactions for bespoke projects.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing updates on production status and project timelines.
  • Engage in broader organizational discussions and decisions.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage production timelines and meet deadlines.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a ceramic production setting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Genuine passion for craftsmanship and sustainable materials.
  • Approachable, thoughtful, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to thrive in a small, diverse team environment.
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Physical capability to handle the demands of the role.
