Job Description

Thrive Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Support and Respite Coordinator to lead the operational delivery and quality assurance of our service for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team in delivering a safe, compliant, and enriching experience for children and young people.
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement the Strategic Development Plan to drive service improvement.
  • Manage the budget and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Oversee performance management, staff rotas, and placement allocation.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and recruitment practices.
  • Develop and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and budget targets.
  • Identify and implement training needs and lead the Training Plan.
  • Generate income and opportunities through partnerships.
  • Uphold and update policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, fire plans, and drills.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Be present on-site during sessions to ensure smooth operation.
  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all sessions.
  • Drive the minibus and arrange transport logistics.
  • Handle invoicing and provide data to finance.
  • Assess and place children and young people, liaising with families and external agencies.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date placement information.
  • Manage internal and external review meetings.
  • Oversee Individual Support Plans and behaviour management interventions.
  • Ensure proper administration of medication.
  • Incorporate children and young people's views into the development of the provision.
  • Maintain positive relationships with families, management, and external agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted registration requirements.
  • Maintain the safety and upkeep of the building and grounds.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, Childcare, or similar.
  • Minimum Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Mandatory Safeguarding training.
  • Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in an education or care setting.
  • Strong ICT skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience in team management and training.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and Ofsted regulations.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Experience with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and complex medical needs.
