About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respite Care Manager to lead our Short Breaks program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and managing enriching care experiences for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Short Breaks program to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality care experiences for children and young people with SEND.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, overseeing safeguarding and administrative staff.
  • Develop and implement a Strategic Development Plan for the Short Breaks service, including budget management and staff performance.
  • Plan and deliver activities that promote equality and meet all regulatory standards.
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and performance of staff to ensure high-quality care and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted registration and other relevant regulations.
  • Build and nurture relationships with families, schools, and external agencies.
Requirements
  • Experience managing services for children and young people with SEND, with at least a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Childcare, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills in a care or educational setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ideal candidate will be Team Teach trained, although training can be provided.
  • Valid driver's license, with the willingness to travel between sites around Swindon and drive a minibus as needed.
