Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Communications and Engagement Officer to join our team at Thames Valley Police. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage with our stakeholders, including the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, TVP Communities, and Partner Agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communication plans to engage with stakeholders and promote the work of Thames Valley Police
  • Manage media relations and respond to media inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Coordinate events and activities to promote engagement with stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain web pages and social media channels to engage with stakeholders
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management on communication and engagement matters
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication and engagement activities

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
