Senior Manager of Electric Vehicle Charging Operations

Your responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations and upkeep of Veolia's electric vehicle charging infrastructure across our depots and fleet chargers throughout the UK.
- Spearhead the transition of depot operations to electric systems.
- Manage procurement, administration, and enhancement of back-office systems, charger maintenance, and service agreements.
- Coordinate the efforts of EVCI Operations Managers at major depots to ensure the dependable operation of the electric fleet and charging facilities.
- Provide ongoing training and skill development for on-site operators and EVCI managers to promote independence and effective contract operations.
- Update business continuity plans as necessary.
- Implement solutions such as smart charging and grid balancing services to optimize energy costs and reduce lifecycle emissions of the electric fleet.
- Engage closely with current and potential customers to showcase the reliability and efficiency of Veolia's electric operations.
- As the primary contact for electric vehicle charging infrastructure and fleet operations, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities.
- Collaborate regularly with the Electrification team to provide feedback on depot design improvements and contribute to feasibility studies for new electrification projects.
- Work alongside IT teams to develop reporting tools for business and customer use, integrating third-party solutions with existing systems.
What we seek:
- Exceptional communication skills at all organizational levels, with a focus on feedback and staff training.
- A degree in engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- Experience in a similar role managing the operation and maintenance of power equipment, particularly EV charging infrastructure.
- Understanding of power systems and energy distribution, along with electrical safety standards.
- Previous client-facing experience.
- Strong contract negotiation abilities.
- Familiarity with field services and project management.
- Experience in data analytics is a significant advantage.
