Role Purpose

Vodafone is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Group Sustainable Business Team as an ESG Transformation Manager. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that our company's sustainable business strategy and processes are aligned with external requirements and that our stakeholders are engaged to support our ESG disclosures.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across business functions and markets globally, as well as colleagues in the Group Sustainable Team and the Group ESG Data team. They will also have a close working relationship with our Policy and Advocacy team to gain insights on forthcoming ESG requirements coming from policymakers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business functions and markets globally to achieve compliance against ESG requirements.
  • Manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships to identify ESG requirement gaps and design strategies to close them.
  • Collaborate with external advisors and contractors to determine critical priorities for ESG alignment and timeline for delivery.
  • Establish and maintain performance management programs to monitor and report on targets and glidepaths.
  • Produce regular management reporting on level of compliance with ESG regulation.
  • Manage and monitor risk to compliance, including escalation through relevant governance forums and development of recommended mitigation actions in collaboration with the relevant business owners.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of ESG regulation and compliance.
  • Experience in sustainability strategy design and implementation, including developing KPIs.
  • Advanced project management skills to steer strategies across multi-functional workstreams.
  • Experience in change management in a multi-national and cultural environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to engage, manage, and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience of designing and implementing compliance or ESG strategies.
  • Proven record of driving sustainability initiatives and excellent knowledge of ESG requirements.
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed organization.
