Job Overview
We are seeking a Band 6 Pediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated SEND Therapy Service. This role will primarily focus on supporting children with speech and language needs in various educational environments.
The successful candidate will work with early years and school-aged children, providing therapy both in their educational settings and at home. This position offers a hybrid working model, allowing for a combination of in-person visits to local schools and virtual sessions from home, available on a full or part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
Your main duties will include:
- Managing a delegated caseload of children with special educational needs across diverse educational settings.
- Collaborating with parents, educational staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a coordinated approach to addressing children's speech, language, and communication requirements.
- Contributing to the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process, including conducting annual reviews and providing updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Supporting the service in achieving key performance indicators and participating in service development initiatives.
- Working in partnership with external agencies to meet local and national objectives.
- Supervising and guiding assistants, students, and less experienced therapists as needed.
- Planning and delivering training sessions for other professionals and caregivers, in collaboration with the SEND Therapies team.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Registered HCPC certification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
- A valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
Experience with the following client groups is advantageous:
- Hearing impairment
- Developmental Language Disorder
- Complex needs
- Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) methods
- Autism, Down Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay
