Role Overview

As a Senior Planner, your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at fulfilling client needs, including:

  • Leading a planning discipline team on complex, high-stakes projects or programs.
  • Developing and maintaining project timelines that align with overall project objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with NEC or FIDIC contract protocols for managing schedule data and submissions.
  • Supporting project teams in generating status reports to keep stakeholders updated on project developments.
  • Overseeing daily management, staffing, and the application of Integrated Project Controls standards and practices.
  • Collaborating with project managers and teams to formulate project schedules.
  • Minimizing uncertainties, clarifying objectives, and enhancing efficiency.
  • Engaging with project teams to outline work scopes, updating detailed schedules, cost data, and identifying deviations from initial plans.
  • Assisting project managers in scheduling tasks and coordinating responsibilities.
  • Assessing project schedule progress and performance, identifying potential issues.
  • Analyzing the critical path and constraints to evaluate the impact of schedule changes and proposing alternatives.
  • Aiding project managers in maintaining effective change management processes.
  • Conducting analyses to explore alternative actions or recovery strategies for delayed schedules.
  • Performing project reviews.
  • Monitoring and consolidating comprehensive project plans.
  • Overseeing the project managers' reporting systems to summarize the status of all projects.
  • Tracking and advising on project KPIs.

Qualifications

You possess professional experience in Project Controls with a focus on Planning & Scheduling across various sectors throughout the entire project lifecycle. You are proficient in Primavera (P6) and/or other planning and resource management software. Your ability to collaborate with diverse teams and your multi-disciplinary knowledge are essential.

You are an effective communicator and leader, capable of influencing, managing, motivating, coaching, and developing a diverse and high-performing team, fostering empowerment and contribution, and building a supportive community beyond project delivery.

Additional qualifications include:

  • A degree in a relevant technical or management discipline or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Membership in a recognized professional organization, such as the Association for Project Management or the Project Management Institute.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to make informed, risk-based decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Leadership experience in project teams, with the capacity to mobilize, inspire, and lead by example.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Flexibility to work across various sectors and with a diverse clientele.
  • Proficiency in navigating conflict situations and alleviating tension.
