Job Description

Mane Contract Services is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team, a leading building services contractor.

Due to their expansion and being awarded a number of projects by a major healthcare provider, they are looking to add to their team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Development and Coordination
    • Develop and coordinate design plans for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Tender Stage
    • Review and analyze tender documents, identifying potential design issues and opportunities for cost savings.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and design teams to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
    • Identify and capitalize on value engineering opportunities to enhance project profitability.
    • Assist in the development of tender submissions, ensuring accurate and complete design information.
  • Post-Award and Pre-Construction Phase
    • Work closely with the pre-construction delivery team to prepare for the construction phase of projects.
    • Review and verify construction issue drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive information required schedule (IRS) and drawing information release schedule.
    • Coordinate the preparation and submission of samples and mock-ups, ensuring timely and effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Construction Phase
    • Chair design team meetings, ensuring effective communication and project delivery.
    • Review works on site for quality and compliance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
    • Collaborate with the technical services manager to ensure timely and effective coordination of design information.
    • Work closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure compliance with employer's requirements and specifications.
  • Post-PC Responsibilities
    • Review and verify as-built drawings for accuracy and compliance.
    • Assist in securing building control sign-off and participate in the handover process.
