Environmental Sustainability Improvement Manager

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Improvement Manager to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a key member of our Shaping Change Team, you will play a crucial role in driving environmental sustainability initiatives and embedding eco-friendly practices into our services.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a proven track record of implementing improvement and/or transformation projects within complex organisations and systems. You will be responsible for providing specialist environmental sustainability advice and delivery across key Cardiff and Vale priorities, working closely with our Head of Improvement & Implementation and Assistant Director of Improvement, Implementation & Spread.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing cross-organisation, complex sustainability projects that have the buy-in of a rich selection of stakeholders.
- Managing operational efficiency projects and supporting Clinical Board strategy development.
- Supporting capacity and capability building across the organisation through improvement skills training, one-to-one knowledge transfer, and coaching.
- Leading the cross-functional Sustainability Action Group within the UHB, monitoring progress against targets and objectives.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or equivalent experience in an environmental discipline.
- Improvement methodology training and experience, such as Improvement in Practice / LEAN service improvement.
- Post graduate qualification in an environmental discipline.
- A project management qualification, such as Qualified in PRINCE2 methodology (Foundation)/APM.
