Environmental Sustainability Improvement Manager

We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Improvement Manager to join our Shaping Change Team, to help us support the development and implementation of key projects that will deliver environmentally sustainable services, provide optimum patient care, and ensure efficient use of resources while promoting a culture that is progressive and inclusive.
The successful post holder will have a key role in integrating sustainable practices to reduce our environmental footprint. Facilitating, supporting, and increasing the organisation's maturity in environmental sustainability through robust improvement processes.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with a proven track record of implementing improvement and/or transformation projects within complex organisations and systems. Additionally, experience in driving environmental sustainability initiatives and embedding eco-friendly practices into service improvement will be highly valued.
Main Responsibilities- Working directly to the Head of Improvement & Implementation and supporting the Assistant Director of Improvement, Implementation & Spread, providing wide-ranging specialist environmental sustainability advice and delivery across key Cardiff and Vale priorities.
- To ensure top performance and delivery of programme aims, the postholder will be required to provide mentoring in improvement, facilitate workshops, drive best practice, support the design and shape of improvement projects, help develop improvement capability across the organisation and project manage key projects.

This post will seek out, manage and drive the development and implementation of cross-organisation, complex, sustainability projects that have the buy-in of a rich selection of stakeholders. These will include managing operational efficiency projects and, when appropriate, to support Clinical Board strategy development working closely with Clinical Board Teams and Clinicians to ensure sustainability is a key element of change efforts.
The post holder will also support capacity and capability building across the organisation through improvement skills training, one-to-one knowledge transfer and coaching. The post holder will be a part of the Shaping Change function and will be out in the organisation, with people to deliver projects with a sustainable output.
You will also be the lead for the cross-functional Sustainability Action Group within the UHB, being a go-to figure, abreast of new policy developments that the Health Board may need to respond to. You will also own the Sustainability Action Plan, monitoring progress against the targets and objectives set.
The successful candidate will be an expert in sustainability underpinned by experience and theory, with highly developed specialist knowledge capable of influencing people and policy.
