The Credit Control Clerk will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. This is a full-time position based on 35 hours per week, with the opportunity to work 2 days from home in a hybrid arrangement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts.
- Maintain regular communication with customers to build positive relationships and ensure payment commitments are met.
- Open and close customer accounts, conduct credit checks, and agree payment terms.
- Deal with customer invoice and payment queries, proactively chase debts, and issue late payment letters.
- Initiate legal action as required, participate in weekly and monthly aged debtor reviews, and perform cash posting and allocation of receipts from customers.
- Review unallocated cash, amend customer credit limits, and stay informed about relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Perform general office administration duties and provide support to the wider finance team as needed.
- Previous experience in credit control and account receivable processes.
- A track record of reducing aged debt.
- A proactive and results-driven approach to credit control.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent numeracy skills and proficiency in basic Microsoft Excel tasks.
- Dynamics 365 experience is desirable.
- A competitive salary of £26-28,000 per annum.
- Hybrid working arrangement.
