About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Therapeutic Radiographer to join our research team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering clinical trials and research projects in radiography.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in therapeutic radiography, with experience in clinical trials and research. You will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering clinical trial activity within the trust, reviewing trial protocols, identifying and screening patients for trial suitability, and providing specialist information to patients taking part in clinical trials.

You will also be an advocate for research, acting as a patient point of contact and providing excellent communication and organisational skills. In addition, you will work closely with the research team to develop and implement new research projects and trials, and contribute to the development of the trust's research strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coordinate, and deliver clinical trial activity within the trust
  • Review trial protocols and identify and screen patients for trial suitability
  • Provide specialist information to patients taking part in clinical trials
  • Act as a patient point of contact and provide excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Work closely with the research team to develop and implement new research projects and trials
  • Contribute to the development of the trust's research strategy
Requirements
  • Current HCPC registration to practice as a Therapeutic Radiographer
  • BSc in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent
  • Evidence of recent CPD
  • Clinical post-registration experience
  • Relevant experience in Management /Leadership training
  • Post-graduate level qualification in Research, Healthcare related subject or equivalent
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training for Research
  • Previous experience of project management and/or participating in the co-ordination of Clinical Trials
  • Evidence of systems development and change management
