We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Operational Function as Head of Operational Function. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong strategic thinking, leadership, and management skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing local strategies in line with the national strategic framework, effectively leading cluster operational delivery, and contributing to national operational delivery and priorities.

As a key member of the Divisional Senior Leadership Team, you will represent the NPS at national partnerships and development meetings, manage devolved budgets, and oversee the Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) locally.

You will also be responsible for making decisions on the management of offenders requiring senior management involvement, managing complaints within the Operational Function, and overseeing Human Resources (HR) policies and practices.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience at middle manager level in different settings, experience of line management, supervision, and appraisal of staff, budgetary control experience, and experience in strategic operational planning and project management.

They will also have the ability to prepare high-level written reports and deliver presentations, experience of managing people through organizational change, and a Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree in Community Justice integrated with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice or equivalent qualifications.

Technical Requirements
