About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Tour Guide to join our team at Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewer. As a Tour Guide, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and sharing the rich history and culture of our brewery and surrounding area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the brewery for tours, including setting up information stands, tidying bar areas, and replenishing bottle coolers.
  • Deliver guided tours to groups, showcasing the brewery's history, products, and services.
  • Answer visitors' questions and provide additional information as needed.
  • Lead groups through tutored tastings and serve at the bar as required.
  • Close down the Visitor Centre and bar in accordance with checklists.
  • Provide feedback to the Visitor Centre Operations Manager.
  • Support events and functions hosted at the brewery as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience in conducting guided tours and sharing knowledge of historical landmarks.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A deep appreciation for the history and culture of the brewery and its surrounding area.
  • Sales skills to promote the brewery's products and services.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.

Shepherd Neame is an independent family business with a rich history dating back over 300 years. We boast an award-winning visitor centre and over 300 pubs and hotels throughout London and the South East. We employ around 1,500 team members across our pub estate and more than 270 at our Brewery and Support Office.
