Hinckley, Leicestershire, United Kingdom Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you passionate about providing exceptional and empathetic care? We invite you to consider joining our dedicated team that is committed to making a significant impact in the lives of our patients.

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a full-time Band 3 Therapy Technical Instructor to deliver Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services to individuals within our Home First and Community Therapy framework.

This innovative service integrates health and social care, delivered by community nursing, therapy, and adult social care teams, allowing you to utilize your therapeutic expertise to:

  • Assist individuals in remaining in their homes during health or social care emergencies, thereby avoiding unnecessary hospital or care home admissions.
  • Facilitate swift hospital discharges and provide rehabilitation and reablement services to restore health, well-being, and independence.
  • Deliver top-notch core therapy reablement, rehabilitation, and recovery services within the comfort of patients' homes.

This role demands a high level of personal accountability. We seek a highly motivated, resilient, and proactive individual who can prioritize and manage their workload effectively, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential, along with the capacity to adapt to a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with qualified therapists and Band 4 Technical Instructors to provide a high-quality Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy service to all patients, including executing delegated tasks and participating in joint visits.
  • Manage a personal caseload of patients assigned by therapists and Band 4s, ensuring the delivery of an effective and efficient service.
  • Identify and implement various treatment modalities with the necessary training and supervision, seeking guidance when required.
  • Work independently with patients while providing relevant updates to the supervising clinician and/or Band 4 regarding patient circumstances.
  • Engage in regular supervision and actively participate in our Technical Instructor in-service training program.
